Aggregate Shaping and Sand Making Plant + Dry Mortar Mixing Plant

Ninon's integrated "aggregate shaping and sand making plant + dry mortar mixing plant" production line integrates raw material drying, aggregate shaping and sand making, precise screening, stone powder separation and mortar mixing into one system. It greatly boosts raw material utilization, stabilizes finished product quality and cuts operating costs. Capable of producing two types of materials, asphalt aggregate and construction mortar, it adapts to diverse production scenarios of engineering building materials. Let us take a look at the main processes of this production line.

Process Description of the Production Line

● Drying

Purchased stones are heated and dried by the drying system to remove residual moisture before entering the subsequent sand-making process. Natural gas combustion is adopted for heat supply during drying.

● Shaping and Sand Making

Dried stones are conveyed by an elevator into the shaping and sand-making unit equipped with a 5-layer heavy-duty linear screen. The shaping and sand-making equipment supports production mode switching according to customer requirements. For asphalt materials, four grades of products are produced: 0–4 mm, 4–10 mm, 10–16 mm and 16–26 mm. For mortar sand, the output is 0–2 mm material, which proceeds to the next process after processing.

● Screening

Materials after shaping and sand making are screened via a vibrating screen. Qualified fine sand enters the subsequent powder separation process. Oversized materials that fail to meet sand specifications are re-transported to the shaping crusher for reprocessing.

● Stone Powder Separation

A coarse particle recycler is installed in the stone powder separation section to recover coarse particles contained in fines. Recovered coarse particles together with dedusted sand are delivered to the finished sand silo. Stone powder below 200 mesh is filtered by dust collector bags and settled into the stone powder silo.

● Feeding for Mortar Production

Raw materials including cement, fly ash, thickening powder and stone powder are conveyed through closed conveying systems into corresponding silos. Sand is elevated by an elevator to the silo. Metered sand is directly fed into the feeding port of the single-shaft high-efficiency mixer. Powder materials such as cement, fly ash, stone powder, thickening powder and admixtures are hermetically fed via screw conveyors to weighing scales, and then discharged into the single-shaft high-efficiency mixer after metering. Dust is mainly generated during raw material transfer and feeding in this section. The whole process adopts computer monitoring with full automatic operation.

● Mortar Mixing

All metered raw materials are fed into the high-efficiency mixer for blending. Computer-controlled mixing ensures the quality of dry-mixed mortar. Working principle of the high-efficiency mixer: Driven by counter-rotating mixing shafts inside the mixer, materials are subjected to circumferential, radial and axial forces from mixing blades. The materials undergo intense blending via extrusion, friction, shearing and convection while moving toward the discharge port. When materials reach the discharge port inside the machine, all components have been homogenously mixed.

● Finished Mortar

Dry-mixed mortar is transported through a closed conveying system to finished product silos. For bulk delivery, the outlet of the finished round silo is connected to bulk tank trucks via flexible connections for transportation to construction sites. A bagging warehouse is also equipped in this project with product packaging equipment; part of the products are bagged and stored in the warehouse.

● Control System

This production line adopts an automatic control system consisting of an industrial personal computer, Siemens PLC and Siemens touch screen. It features a dynamic 3D control interface with user-friendly HMI and one-button start-stop function. Multiple online monitoring sensors are deployed to track equipment operating conditions in real time, with early warning, alarm and emergency shutdown functions. Meanwhile, the system is equipped with remote maintenance ports and LAN internet access to realize online and remote monitoring, viewing and statistics of equipment operating parameters.
